HyFAR-ARA Board meeting
HyFAR-ARA Board meeting – 12 June 2026 Toulouse (France)
On Friday 12 June 2026, the 𝗛𝗬𝗙𝗔𝗥-𝗔𝗥𝗔 Board met at the ONERA Centre in Fauga-Mauzac. The Board would like to extend their warmest thanks to ONERA for hosting the meeting and organising the day’s proceedings.
In addition to approving the association’s annual and financial reports, this meeting provided an opportunity to review a year—2026— that is particularly rich in scientific events.
Events in which 𝗛𝗬𝗙𝗔𝗥-𝗔𝗥𝗔 is involved both through its financial support and its contribution to the organisation:
- Meeting of the NATO STO AVT-439 Working Group “Predicting Hypersonic Boundary-Layer Transition in Realistic Conditions” – Cap Sciences Bordeaux, 21–22 May 2026
- 9th French/Belgian OpenFOAM Users’ Conference – ENSAM Bordeaux, 3–5 June 2026
- Aerothermodynamics and Design for Demise Workshop (ATD3) – Cité de l’Espace, Toulouse, 17–19 June 2026
- Aerothermics summer school – Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, 21–23 September 2026.
These events demonstrate the dynamism of the community brought together within HyFAR-ARA and its commitment to research, innovation and knowledge sharing in the fields of hypersonics, atmospheric re-entry and aerothermal science.
The day concluded with a visit to the F4 hypersonic wind tunnel, a unique facility capable of recreating on the ground the aerodynamic and thermal conditions encountered by a hypersonic vehicle during its re-entry into the atmosphere. Many thanks to 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻 -𝗟𝘂𝗰 𝗩𝗲́𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 and 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 for their fascinating explanations and their helpfulness throughout the tour.
